The national lockdown has resulted in many families and shareholders missing their Ngwenya Lodge weeks this year. We understand fully the frustration because we miss the interaction with our shareholders just as much.

Dear Valued Shareholders

We hope and pray that you are safe, sound and healthy. We trust that all the warm and everlasting memories that you have created at Ngwenya in the past, are enough to keep you smiling.

You have been on our minds since the lockdown was announced. So what have we been doing? Well, we have been mopping, a lot. We dedicated this time to tasks that have been tough to thoroughly complete before because of the busy schedule that is brought by the popularity of Ngwenya Lodge. Be assured that your little piece of Heaven on Earth is in pristine condition.

We were able to paint units, making sure that the Resort is spick and span. We repaired pathways. The housekeepers were taken through more training in the preparations of your coming back home. These are just a few of the many activities our small onsite team have been immersed in during this time.

The animals have been dropping hints that suggest that they miss you as well. Well, they will show you in person upon your return to the riverside.

We would like to reiterate our commitment to the COVID-19 Health and Safety protocols and regulations outlined by the government. The warmth that is exuded by the closeness of the Ngwenya family has once again been able to thaw the psychological and physical icebergs brought on by the common enemy we face. To be part of your family is an honour we hold in high esteem.

What shall we liken this period to?

It is like a farmer who wakes each morning and heads out into his field to water a planted seed. He planted it, nurtures it and knows that a mighty tree is busy growing there, but right now, the tree is not visible. Though the field remains bare, he knows that every drop of water, every weed removed and every bit of compost added is his investment in the fruit to come, that will bring nourishment and joy.

Our ongoing mission is to ensure that Ngwenya Lodge is kept to the highest standard.

Your levy payments mean that we may continue caring for the dedicated staff, as well as your beautiful Lodge; updating the Chalets, conducting the necessary maintenance, tending to the gardens and wildlife needs – all of which would not be possible without your dedication and support.
